Dear Brentwood Families:

Beautiful fall weather continues, and students are settling well into their September school routines.

Here are some reminders and updates as we look ahead:

Our school has planned a number of learning activities in recognition of National Day for Truth & Reconciliation.  On Thursday, September 25, students are encouraged to wear an orange shirt on top of their regular uniform.  Next week, students will be learning, as age appropriate, about residential schools and their legacy; making a classroom commitment to one of the TRC actions; and bringing home a reconciliation bracelet to share with their family.

Brentwood is hosting its Terry Fox Run on Friday, September 26.  Monday/Wednesday kindergarten students will complete their run earlier in the week.  We are fundraising for the Terry Fox Foundation alongside our run, and students are asked to bring a cash donation, if possible, by September 26. Those students who donate $2 or more may wear casual clothing instead of their uniform on Friday. Our goal for this year is to raise $2800.  Families may also donate directly through:  https://schools.terryfox.ca/Brentwood

‘Meet the Teacher” School Conferences are scheduled for Monday, September 29 from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm.  This is an opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher and visit their classroom.  Shared conference times may be booked through MyCBE.

Brentwood School is partnering with school council to offer an apple fundraiser with Davison Orchards.  Families are welcome and encouraged to purchase a 15-pound box of farm-fresh apples from Vernon, B.C.  The proceeds of $10 per box will support new resources for our library collection and music program.  Payment is made by e-transfer.  Ordering information is in the attachment.  Brentwood School Apple Fundraiser
