Dear Brentwood Families:
Please take a moment to review the following reminders and updates:
Charter Transportation
Most of our students ride a yellow school bus to and from Brentwood. The time they spend on the bus is an important part of their elementary school experience. To ensure a safe and enjoyable ride for students (and the driver!) please take a moment to review the following CBE bus rules with your child:
- the driver must be respected;
- while on the bus or at bus stops, students must conduct themselves in a quiet and courteous manner, showing consideration for the comfort and safety of others;
- when leaving the bus, students must observe the instructions of the bus driver
- while the bus is in motion, students must remain seated facing forward, and must not try to get on or off the bus, or move about within the bus;
- students must not distract the bus driver with excessive noise
Violation of these rules may lead to the loss of riding privileges, suspension from school or to other disciplinary measures under Administrative Regulation 6006 | Progressive Student Discipline. Thank you for your support and cooperation.
Visitors to the School
- Parents and guardians may only come into the school if they have business in the office; are accompanying a late arriving child; or have an appointment to meet their child’s teacher. This is for the safety and security of our learning community.
- We do not accept delivery of food items. We do not allow unfamiliar adults (i.e. delivery drivers) into the building, nor are we staffed to bring deliveries to students. If you wish to pre-order food items, information about our Treat and Fun Lunch dates will be provided by parent council shortly.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
School Conferences will occur on Thursday, September 26 from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm and on Friday, September 27 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. September conferences are an important opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and have an initial conversation about their learning. Conferences may be booked through your MyCBE account beginning on Monday, September 16 at 4 pm.
Student Health
With the return to school and the upcoming flu season please do everything you can to keep our school community healthy. We take the health and safety of our students and staff seriously. In all matters of health, CBE takes direction from Alberta Education and Alberta Health Services. Please keep your child at home if they are feeling unwell or have clear symptoms of cold or flu.
Alberta Health Services has a respiratory assessment tool to provide Albertans with guidance to manage a wide range of respiratory illnesses, and provide advice on caring for symptoms at home, and when to seek additional care.
Wishing your family an enjoyable Fall weekend.
Sincerely,
Rudy J. Stein
