Here are a few quick reminders and updates for the week ahead:

Individual Program Plans (IPPs)

If your child has an IPP it will be sent home today.  Please take the time to review this document and return the signature page next week.  Should you have any questions about your child's IPP, please contact their teacher.

Walking Field Trips

During the school year, students participate in a number of walking field trips to destinations near the school.  Please see the attachment for a letter explaining walking trips at Brentwood.  You will receive 48 hrs notice from your child's teacher anytime a trip of this nature will occur.  Field Trips within Walking Distance

Picture Days

Our School Picture Days will be Wednesday, October 23 and Thursday, October 24.  We will provide families with another reminder closer to these dates.  Grade 1-6 students have their photo taken on the Wednesday.  The Thursday date is for Tuesday-Thursday Kindergarten students and any students who were absent the day before.  Formal uniforms are required on our photo days.

Pumpkinella

We still require volunteers to help out with the setup and decorating process and some parents to help with the event on Halloween. We encourage parents to dress up if you are working the main event to get into the spirit, but not necessary.

Pumpkins may be dropped off either Wednesday, October 30 OR Thursday, October 31 and to be picked up on Thursday, October 31. Please label the pumpkin with the teacher's name so we know where to place the pumpkin. Drop off by the office on the labelled black trolley's and a volunteer will come and grab it.

Wednesday Drop-Off Times: 9:00 AM – 1:15 PM

Thursday Drop-Off is in the morning ONLY from 8:30 AM – 9:15 AM

Teacher’s will also be asked to participate in an optional pumpkin carving contest. Students will get a chance to vote for their favorite pumpkin. The teacher who wins the greatest number of votes will receive a $25 Dollarama gift card and the class will get to pick a prize from a bin of goodies.

Purdy's Chocolatier Fundraiser

A reminder that we are also doing a contest this year and will be awarding the highest sales class with a pizza party!

The funds we raise through this chocolate fundraiser will go a long way in helping us host exciting and memorable events for our students, staff, and families along with providing the school with any additional resources that they require to further enhance the student’s learning experience.

Cut off date to order Purdy’s is on: Sunday, November 17

Tentative shipment date of goods: November 25 – November 27

Tentative pick-up date: Thursday, December 5

When ordering, please provide your child’s Full Name, Grade, and Teacher in the Additional Info section. This is a crucial step so we can keep track for our contest and who to deliver the order to. Our Treasurer, Chanel, has been trying to contact those who haven't provided this information, so please message her back right away.

School Council Meeting

Our first meeting is scheduled on Thursday, October 24 at 7:00 PM held virtually via Zoom. This is a great opportunity to stay informed and hear about any school updates, school and council budgets, and to ask any questions you may have for our School Principal, Mr. Stein.
