Dear Brentwood Families:

Here are some important reminders and updates for the week ahead:

Last week our teachers began our second cycle of Response to Intervention (RTI).  This initiative involves providing targeted literacy support, over an eight week period, to identified students.  The results of our first cycle of RTI indicate this initiative is highly impactful:  Almost all students involved improved their literacy skills.  If your child will be participating in the second cycle of RTI, you will have received contract from their teacher.  Response to Intervention is a long-term strategy at Brentwood which will continue for the forthcoming school year.

The number of families interested in enrolling their child for the 2024-2025 school year continues to exceed available spots at our school.  After the lottery process was completed this spring, a lengthy wait list was created with many of these families still hoping to bring their child to Brentwood.  If your child is changing schools next year (i.e. your family is moving, or your child is transferring to another school), please ensure you have notified our office.  This will allow us to offer their place to other families on the wait list.

We are hosting a New Student and Family Orientation on Thursday, May 23 at 7:00 pm.  While intended mainly for our new Kindergarten families, this will be an opportunity for all students and families new to the school next year to learn about our programming.  More details about this event will be provided soon.

If you have been a volunteer at Brentwood School this year, please join us for our Volunteer Appreciation Tea on Friday, June 7 from 12:00 pm to 1:20 pm.  We would love to have you there!  The invitation is attached and a paper copy will also be sent home with your child this week.  This appreciation event will include snacks, refreshments, and a variety of performances from our students.  Please use the provided QR code to RSVP.
