Dear Brentwood Families:
It has been a wonderful start to the school year! Here are some reminders and updates for the week ahead:
MyCBE Account
This year the CBE will be using SchoolEngage to complete some of the necessary yearly forms. In order to access SchoolEngage, you will require a MyCBE account. The forms found in SchoolEngage include: Demographic Verification 2024 - 2025 and Annual Authorization 2024 - 2025. If you plan to volunteer this school year, you can also fill out the Volunteer Registration Form. Please ensure that these forms are completed by September 13, 2024.
New Curriculum
As many of you are aware, this year we continue to implement the new curriculum. Specifically, we will implement the Grade 4 – Grade 6 Science curriculum. Over the summer and the school year, teachers will participate in a variety of Professional Learning opportunities to facilitate the implementation of the new curriculum. For further information please visit: (New Curriculum), (Existing Curriculum).
Safety Practice
We are holding our first fire drill of the year on Thursday, September 5 at 3:30 pm. Students will be notified of this important safety practice in advance.
School Absences
Please remember to call the attendance line to let us know of your student’s absence – 403 777 6130 ext. 1. This not only helps us as we complete daily attendance but is also a security concern in the case of emergencies. Just a gentle reminder to keep your students home if they are not feeling well. If you are picking up your child early from school, please notify both your child’s teacher and the office no later than 12 noon on that day, and no later than 10 am on Fridays. This provides us with enough time to ensure we have updated our attendance and bus lists, and have your child ready for pick-up. Thank you!
Volunteers
We are happy to welcome volunteers back to school! If you would like to have the opportunity to volunteer this year, please make sure that you have your volunteer clearance up to date. Please contact our office for details around this process. A reminder that police security clearances are valid for 5 years from date of issue.
Wishing your family an enjoyable weekend.
Sincerely,
Rudy J. Stein
