Although we have certainly had a full range of weather conditions for our Yellow Steps residency, our students and teachers are enjoying their outdoor field study of our community. Once again, thank you to parent council for their financial support of this residency. The residency finishes on Monday, May 4.
A few reminders for the week ahead:
School Fees
School fees are updated throughout the year and are paid through MyCBE PowerSchool. We appreciate your attention to any fees requiring payment, which provide for the cost of field trips and in-school programming. Please note our grade 1-3 swimming program begins in May, and several more field trips are planned, including Kindergarten visits to the zoo, trips to Glenbow Ranch, and grade 6 outdoor school at the beginning of June.
Elder Shirley Hill
Elder Shirley Hill returns to Brentwood this week to continue her Indigenous teachings, which this visit will include some instruction in hoop dancing. Brentwood is proud to have built relationships with numerous Elders and Knowledge Keepers. This guidance and support have become a valued part of our learning community.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Safety
Please continue to drive carefully in and around our bus zone during busy drop-off and pick-up times. A reminder that all roads around school property are a playground zone and that our staff parking lots should not be used by parents. Our school, and our residential neighbors, thank you for your cooperation.
Kindergarten and New Student Orientation
Looking ahead, we are hosting a Kindergarten and New Student Orientation on Thursday, May 21 at 6:30 PM. This event is for our Kindergarten students and families who will be joining us in September, as well as new families who will have a child coming to Brentwood for grades 1-6.
