Dear Brentwood Families:

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! 

Our staff looks forward to welcoming new and familiar faces to our Traditional Learning Centre (TLC) program.  We have approximately 835 Kindergarten to grade 6 students registered for September.

Here is some important information for you:

• Our school office re-opens on Monday, August 24 at 9 am.  Our secretaries will be available to assist families by telephone.  If an in-person meeting is required, please call to make an appointment.  Please note our school is at capacity with wait lists at each grade level.  We do not accept registrations outside of the lottery process.
• You will receive an introductory email from your child’s teacher on Friday, August 28.  The email will include instructions for the first day of school, including where to meet the teacher, and other important details about the first week of classes.
• The first day of school is Monday, August 31.  Kindergarten students will attend on a staggered entry based on surnames; details are posted on Back to School page.
• School begins at 9:15 am Monday to Friday.  We begin outside supervision and open our doors beginning at 9:00 am.  School ends at 3:48 pm Monday to Thursday and at 1:18 pm on Fridays. 
• As a large school, we have well-established processes to manage and supervise students at arrival and departure, lunch times, and at recess.  Teachers will share more information with you.  Please note that during the first days of school, our entire staff assists students with arrival and departure, including for charter transportation (yellow school buses).

During the school year, I send all families regular ‘The Week Ahead’ messages by email.  Please review these messages for important reminders and updates. ‘The Week Ahead’ message is in addition to communication from teachers and our parent council.
